General Program Information

Dr. Baula is a physician with 22 years of experience in weight management. Bariatrics is the study or science of weight loss. Dr. Baula’s office helps you determine your ineffective eating habits and change them. He also uses medicines specifically designed to help you through this change process, as well as a food diary to help you understand the types of foods you are consuming. This is a medically supervised weight loss program; so periodic EKG’s (which evaluates your heart) and lab work (CBC w/differential, Platelets, Chemistry, Lipid Panel, and Thyroid Panel) will be taken and examined by Dr. Baula’s office to ensure that you are continuing down a healthy path for weight loss. Monthly visits are required.

This is not a quick weight loss program. Experts agree that for safe weight loss the average patient should lose between 1-2 pounds a week or 4-8 pounds a month. Each month you will have a consultation with Dr. Baula or an associate and they will adjust your medication in order to ensure a healthy weight loss continuation. However, patients are encouraged to call the center if the medicines do not seem to be effective or have side effects. Thousands have found this program was the only thing that helped them lose the weight and keep it off!

Your first visit to Dr. Baula’s office will include an EKG, body fat composition measurement, blood work up and a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Baula or his associate. The first appointment should take about two hours. Each month after, you should expect your appointment to last one hour.
Regular monthly patient visits will include blood draws and EKGs periodically. This will ensure that you are maintaining a healthy weight loss.
